Hello and welcome, we are Nikki and Jac. This is our little story of how we ended up running our own Chambres d’hôtes.
In the summer of 2016, we swapped the south of England for south-west France by starting a new life in the enchanting medieval village of Issigeac in the southern Dordogne.
We are a family of four, with two precious "children", an 8 year old son called Louis and our 1 year old beautiful boxer dog called Gigi.
For us it was important that our next step in both our personal and
professional lives allowed us to infuse our passions and our experience we
have accumulated throughout our careers.
Jac’s prestigious background in hospitality, working in restaurants in the
Eiffel tower, as well as in the iconic Moulin Rouge in Paris, meant that we wanted to start a business which specifically catered for top class comfort and
hospitality for our guests. In addition to this, my background in managing
a travel agency, meant that we also wanted to provide an enriching cultural
experience in a beautiful area. Lastly, both are backgrounds, which are also in interiors meant that we wanted to create a space which provides a charming and vintage aesthetic and experience.
Before even visiting Issigeac we had already heard rave reviews from my
colleagues about the village and the immense history which is ingrained in
the Dordogne. So … In August 2015 we decided to pay a visit to see what
this fanfare was all about, and from the moment we left Bergeac airport,
Jac and I were instantly captivated. The spellbinding landscape of the
vineyards and the alluring chateaux nestling in the background of the
nearby villages, had our minds set that this was going to be the place for
our new B&B adventure.
When we finally arrived in the village of Issegiac, Jac and I knew that this 13th century medieval village was going to be our next home and would be the setting for our story of "Le Doyenné............
